Projects

 

Here you'll find a brief description of some the major projects that we will do in Computer Graphics 1. When taking the class, students will have access to all instructional videos for each activity and lesson. Some projects and themes are subject to change on a year to year basis.

Designed Word Cloud

Students find 25 words that describe themselves, and assign a hierarchy to the words. They must use the type tool in Adobe Illustrator ro create a 8.5x11 designed word cloud. They must experiment and excercise control with color, font, size, and overall design.

Illustrated Movie Poster

Using a self-portrait photo, students create a movie poster using the pen tool in Adobe Illustrator. They are to further expand their skills in Adobe Illustrator and begin making more decisive decisions in regards to composition, color and style. 

Heritage Collage

Students are introduced to digital collage through Adobe Photoshop. They must use free source photos as well as thier own personal photos to create a dynamic collage that reflect thier personal heritage. This heritage can reflect religion, hobbies, locations and people. 

 

Perspective and Digital Painting

Students will create a digital painting in Adobe Photoshop revolving around a specific theme. Students will begin to learn about different styles of painting, organizing a composition in regards to perspective and will develop thier skills in shading.

3D modeled Sanctuary

Students will be introduced to the basics of 3D modeling and building. They will discuss the idea of "safety," and create thier own personal sanctuary. They will be introduced to the program, Blender, and will experiment with polygonal building and basic animation and simulations.

Social Issue Model
and Video

Students will find and research a social issue, prominent in today's world. After researching, they will design model a vehicle, animal or machine that could "solve" this issue. Students will be introduced to rigging and frame by frame animation. They will create a short video exhibiting how thier model works.
