Projects

Here you'll find a brief description of some the major projects that we will do in Computer Graphics 2. When taking the class, students will have access to all instructional videos for each activity and lesson. Some projects and themes are subject to change on a year to year basis.

Designed Artist Statement

Students will create an artist statement that will tell the reader about their own personal style, their favorite subject matter and their sources of inspiration. Students will then use Adobe Indesign to experiment with unqiue layout, font choices and color to create a balanced and clean artist statement.

Designed Recipe

Students will research a food recipe and collect free source images that relate to the recipe. With a limited color palet and 1-2 images, the student must design the recipe spread in Adobe Indesign. They will make decisive decisions in regards to the use of negative space, canvas size and the balance of type and image.

Graffiti Portrait

Students will use digital cameras to experiment with extreme lighting, and poses. They will use Adobe Illustrator and one of thier images to create a "graffiti"  inspired artwork. They will create a series of images that propose where they think the work should be "installed." Depending on time and availablity, students will interview with school admin to have thier work installed on the walls of the school.

Promotional Set

Students will reflect on what makes them unique and brainstorm themes and designs that reflect this. They will then use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create a calling card, letterhead and envelope. All three "pieces" must be individually strong and when places together, unified. Students must pick a 3 color scheme and experiment with font, negative space, cut outs, inside and outside spaces.

Themed Digital Painting

Students will be introduced to several intermediate painting styles and artists. They will determine thier own theme and crate a digital painting based on this themein Adobe Photoshop. They will then defend thier choices in a group critique.

Students will be introduced to several different architects and buildings. They will create a unique one of a kind building in Blenderwithin one of 5 different enviroments. The building either conflict or work with the choosen enivroment. Students works will be 3D printed.

3D Model:
Character
In the Style of an Artist

Students will design and build thier own character in Blender. Students will be introduced to creating 3D clothing, hair, whole character rigging and intermediate simulations. They will create a video of thier character intertacting with the architecture project.

After researching a famous artist and how they created their most famous works, student create a digital painting merging their own interests with the style of their artist. Very much an old world meets new world experience!
