Projects
Here you'll find a brief description of some the major projects that we will do in Computer Graphics 3. When taking the class, students will have access to all instructional videos for each activity and lesson. Some projects and themes are subject to change on a year to year basis.
Opposites
Screen Print
Students will create a screen print design using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. They will research and design an "opposites theme" (ie: black and white, life and death, chaos and order, dog and cat etc). Students must keep all designs minimalistic, only using two colors or halftones. Students may opt to screen print on a t-shirt.
Designed Alphabet
Students will create a 25 letter alphabet using Adobe Illustrator and Photopshop. They may choose thier own theme that will be reflected consistently within the Alphabet. Students will make decisive decisions in regards to color, weight, rhythm, harmony.
Applying Designed
Alphabet
Students will apply their designed alphabet into a composition. They may choose to create a portrait, promotional set, flash animation (in the form of credits for a movie), screen printed design etc.
Theme Based Painting
Students explore a concept of their choosing, ranging from the concept of loss, the seasons or society roles. Student explain their concept through a 8-page spread using a variety of programs to ensure success.
American Cool
Based on the art exhibtion recently shown at the Musuem of Portraiture in Washington DC, students will try to understand what it means to be "COOL." Individually, they will determine thier own criteria and create an artwork based on this criteria. They may use any of the prgrams introduced through Computer Graphics.
3D Model:
Advanced Character
Students will use pictures of thier own face to create of version of their bust in Blender. Students will learn the various applications of 3D modeling from engineering, architecture, animation, medicine and etc. They will be challenged to refer to one of these applications in thier work.
